PTFE (poly tetra fluoro ethylene) is flexible and can be cut to any desired length.  It can be sterilized (up to 260 degrees) and does not cause any allergic reactions (nickle free).  Item should be unassembled before being auto-claved. PTFE is self threading with any ball.
