Materials Used

316L Surgical Steel - SS316L surgical implant grade is the most used material for general body piercing.  All of our surgical steel meet or exceeds the European Nickel directive of 2001.

Titanium - Grade 23 Titanium (6AL-4V-ELI) is compliant with the European Nickel directive of 2001 for initial piercings.  It is biocompatible and can be anodized in many colors as well as high polished.  It is ideal for initial piercings as well as healed piercings.  Titanium is only half the weight of surgical steel, yet twice as strong. 

Black Steel - Black steel is surgical steel 316L coated by using a PVD process (physical vapor deposition).  The coating is extremely resistant to scratches.

Bioflex - Bioflex is an excellent piercing material that can be steam sterilized or autoclaved.  Bioflex is highly biocompatible and has a zero nickel content.  Bioflex is adjustable so that it may be cut to size for initial piercings and healed piercings.  It is very flexible and bends with the body for ultimate comfort.  Bioflex is a medical grade plastic that successfully passed the USP (United States Pharmacopoeia) testing, including the VI biocompatibility test.  Bioflex also complies with the European Pharmacopoeia (1977) Regulations.

Gold - All 14K and 18K gold jewellery is manufactured with a nickel free alloy.

U.V. Acrylic - Acrylic comes either U.V. reactive (black light) or as 'glow in the dark'.  It is not autoclaveable and may crack if soaked in disinfectant chemicals such as alcohol.  It is not suitable for initial piercings.
